The IP address 192.168.88.1 is the default gateway for MikroTik RouterOS devices. Every MikroTik router — from the popular hAP series to the powerful CCR (Cloud Core Router) and CRS (Cloud Router Switch) models — uses this address for its WebFig management interface. MikroTik is widely used by WISPs (Wireless Internet Service Providers), small businesses, and advanced home users around the world.
LOGIN TO 192.168.88.1 WEBFIG PANEL
If you don't have a MikroTik device, 192.168.88.1 probably won't work for you. Try 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 instead — these are the most common gateway addresses for consumer routers from brands like TP-Link, Netgear, and ASUS.
MikroTik routers are known for their unique default credential setup. Depending on the RouterOS version and device model, the default credentials vary:

Important: Starting with RouterOS v6.43 and newer, MikroTik forces you to set a password on first login. The default username is always admin with a blank password, but you'll be immediately prompted to create a new password for security.
MikroTik devices offer multiple ways to access the admin interface. Here's how to log in via the web browser (WebFig):
http://192.168.88.1 in your browser's address bar and press Enter. This opens the WebFig interface — MikroTik's web-based management tool. You can also try http://192.168.88.1/webfig/ directly.admin as the username and leave the password field empty (for new devices). If this is your first login on RouterOS v6.43+, you'll be prompted to set a new password immediately. Enter a strong password and save it.If 192.168.88.1 doesn't open, the IP may have been changed. Configure your wireless network through the Wireless menu in WebFig. You can change the WiFi network name (SSID), set the wireless password, select the WiFi band and channel, and configure advanced wireless settings. MikroTik supports creating a guest WiFi network using Virtual APs (VAPs) with isolated traffic and bandwidth limits.
MikroTik RouterOS offers enterprise-grade security features. Change the admin password immediately after first login. Configure the built-in firewall with detailed rules, set up MAC address filtering for wireless access control, and block unwanted devices using access lists. MikroTik's firewall is one of the most powerful available in any router platform.
MikroTik excels at advanced networking. Configure port forwarding (dst-nat rules), set up a VPN server (WireGuard, OpenVPN, L2TP, PPTP, or SSTP), configure Dynamic DNS using MikroTik's built-in IP Cloud service or third-party providers, and manage complex routing with OSPF, BGP, or static routes.
Keep your MikroTik running smoothly by regularly updating RouterOS firmware through System > Packages > Check For Updates. Monitor connected devices via the DHCP server leases or wireless registration table. If you need to start fresh, reset the router using the physical reset button or the System > Reset Configuration command.

Hold the reset button on the router for 5 seconds while powering it on. Keep holding until the LED starts flashing, then release. The router will reboot with factory defaults: IP 192.168.88.1, username "admin," no password. All custom configuration will be erased.
